This result is overwhelming and greatly affects how bargaining will go when we meet the employer again at the table.
CUPE Local 2977 represents approximately 250 members who work as Developmental Support Workers, Recreation, Maintenance and Cleaning staff at the Fly Road location and surrounding areas in Vineland, Ontario. Our members provide a wide range of services to enrich and enhance the lives of the people they support.
We are currently in the midst of negotiations with our employer - Bethesda Services - and unfortunately talks have been unproductive, so we have filed for conciliation .Our bargaining committee's top priorities, as directed by the membership, are:- safer working conditions- better work life balance- an end to two tier language- wage increases
